The bb height difference on the +13mm is small, enough that you can easily make up for it with how you set your sag. In fact the stock, size small Ripmo has a much lower bb *stock* than an XL Ripmo has with the +13mm Jank Link!
You can also use our “Pro Chip” to bring the BB up further if you prefer the feel of a higher BB but still want the +13mm Jank Link. If in doubt, reach out!
It’s also possible to get your reach back by rolling your bars forward ~0.5 degrees or going to a 44mm stem from a 40.
I was loving the versatility of my Ripmo v3, but after some Open Enduro World Cup, Morzine and Whistler riding, I wanted to experiment with longer chainstays to increase stability without losing front tire grip. Paging Brian Cahal...
After a few months of calculating geometry, kinematics, prototypes, and ride testing, I'm proud to introduce the Jank Link. This limited run of 20 links extends the chainstay length by +13mm, so on my XM ripmo that puts the CS length at 449mm. It also slightly lowers the bottom bracket -3mm, and slackens the head angle by .5 degrees. The leverage curve is also slightly adjusted, meaning I recommend about 2.5-5% increase in shock pressure to start. I chose to push things a bit with this link because I wanted to dial in the whole geometry package to my preference.
Compatability: Ripmo V3, Ripley V5, Ripmo/Ripley AF V2, HD6 (pending)
